The National Hospital of Traditional Medicine (NHTM) is the leading hospital of traditional medicine in Vietnam. The team combines both traditional and modern practice in the treatment of a range of common and chronic disease. The hospital plays a valuable role in preserving the local medical system of Vietnam and is a WHO (World Health Organization) collaborating centre for traditional medicine. The Hospital also regularly conducts research on the efficacy of local natural products using both in vitro and in vivo approaches.

Relieving symptoms of occasional episodes of gout.

Objective
To evaluate the safety, efficacy and tolerability of GoutFighter for relieving symptoms of occasional episodes of gout.
Sample
Adult patients (age ≥ 18 years) were eligible to be included if they had a history of chronic gout.
Methods
Clinical intervention followed a single arm, open-label design. Participants (n = 35 recruited) received 4 tablets of GoutFighter daily over a 45-day period. Efficacy was assessed by changes in pain, swelling and blood uric acid levels, with concurrent safety and tolerability assessments.
Results
This trial has finished and is currently submitted for publication in a peer-review journal. Full results will become available shortly.
